Our 3rd annual conference will likely be the most fun you've ever had at a work event. High energy presentations, coupled with years of industry experience, in a collaborative setting means you'll be engaged from start to finish. We are firm believers in practicing what we preach, as such, half of our time will be spent in the field flying a variety of settings. This year we have the unique privilege of flying in and around Moab, Utah. The extra effort required for travel will be worth it as Moab is possibly one of the most scenic areas on the planet. Our field trips to hone our flight skills will not soon be forgotten.
In keeping with 2018's theme, "UAS in the Wild West," our 3 days will be spent half in a classroom setting, and the remainder in the field flying UAS at a variety of industrial, commercial, and beautiful natural settings. Discussions and presentation topics include current legal and regulatory updates, future FAA regulations, emerging tech, software and hardware demonstrations, guest expert speakers, and a collaborative environment where facilities managers can work with their peers to solve todays industry problems. Credits will also be accrued to count towards certification of CFUP (Certified Facilities UAV Professional).
The conference will be held at the Marriott Hotel Complex in Moab, UT. We will have special event rates at the Fairfield Inn and Springhill Suites, they are both located in the same complex. You can fly into either Salt Lake City, UT (SLC), Grand Junction, CO (GJT), or direct to Moab, UT (CNY). It is a 4 hour drive from SLC, 1.5 hours from GJT, and 20 minutes from CNY. Rental cars are available at all three airports. Upon registration, you will receive packing lists, hotel discount code ($159/night), syllabus, and general itinerary.
Space is very limited in our conferences. We limit participation so we can all have space to fly our drones, and a greater presenter to participant ration (typically 4 participants to 1 presenter). If you wish to fly, you will need to provide your own drone or partner with another participant and fly theirs. We have a limited number of drones available to rent for the duration of the conference, please email for details.
We will begin at 9am everyday and wrap things up about 6PM (sunset). Lunch will be provided daily, and the last evening (Thursday) we will have a closing party with a delicious dinner and presentation. There will also be optional morning and evening adventures to watch the sunrise at the fabulous Mesa Arch in Canyonlands National Park, or see stars and maybe the Milky Way like you've only dreamed of while "light painting" at Windows Arch in Arches National Park. The special hotel rate at the Marriott hotels will be valid from the Friday prior to the conference, till the Monday following it. We've arranged for this in the event that you would like to come early or stay late and explore 2 National Parks, 3 State Parks, or over a million acres of BLM Public Lands. It is a true outdoor paradise that we are excited to share with you.
